Alpha Oak supply handmade doors to specifications/designs.
Doors are available in standard sizes and also in bespoke sizes, as each door is made individually by our joiners there is no extra labour charge for unusual or one off sizes.
If the door required is smaller than standard, the cost will be less, if much larger then only the increase in the cost of timber used will be applied
Prices for boarded doors are £165.00 + vat for standard sizes (no glazing)
Prices for bespoke sizes are provided on application.
The oak used is joinery grade European Oak.
Each board has a groove on either side, in which a tongue fillet is placed, providing increased stability to the door. The outer boards have a square edge one side.
The boards can be machined with either a pencil bead detail or a bevel.
They are then supported by 4 ledges across the back face, which are screwed to the main body of the door. The screw holes are hidden by either an infill strip or by individual oak plugs.
Braces (diagonal), although not necessary, can be included if required.
Glass panels can be included in the upper part of the door.
Boarded doors are best suited to being hung with traditional T hinges and thumb latch door furniture.
Doors are supplied unfinished and can be stained, aged or oiled to suit.
A full fitting and finishing service is available at a cost of £50.00 per door (subject to site survey)
